Incident Summary – Friday 26th April – Night Shift
To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.
19:01 – Exelby, Bedale
Crews from Bedale responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm.
19:56 – White Rose Crescent, Richmond
Crews from Richmond responded to reports of a hedgerow on fire. The crews extinguished a large garden hedge using two hose reel jets. The cause was believed to have been deliberate and the Police were informed of the incident.
20:51 – Heslington Road, York
York crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm.
23:14 – Regent Street, York
Crews from York responded to reports of persons locked inside a residential property due to a faulty mechanism on an internal door. Entry was gained using crew power and advice given to residents.
02:12 – Gristhorpe, Filey
Crews from Scarborough and Filey responded to a female that had slipped off a cliff edge. The female was located and assisted back to safety by the crews using line rescue equipment. She was then left in care of paramedics on scene.
03:39 – Seamer Mount, Scarborough
Crews from Robin Hood’s Bay responded to reports of a person stuck in a faulty lift carriage. The elderly resident was released safely and left in care of staff on site.
04:57 – Bawtry Road, Selby
Both Selby crews responded to reports of a HGV cab on fire at a commercial premises. The fire was extinguished using two hose reel jets and two breathing apparatus. The cause of the fire was accidental due to an electrical fault.
