Incident Summary – Dayshift, Saturday 20th April

Time: 08:28    Location: West Yorkshire Area

Our colleagues in West Yorkshire Fire Service asked for assistance at an incident in their area.

Time: 09:44    Location: Gale Lane, Acomb

Crews from Acomb and York responded to smoke sighted inside a domestic property. This was caused by smoking and crews carried out a home fire safety visit with the occupant.

Time:  13:46   Location: Palace Road, Ripon

A crew from Ripon responded to an elderly occupant stuck in their bath. Crew power was used to move the occupant to a safe location inside their property. Crews also carried out a home fire safety visit.

Time: 14:05    Location: York Centre, York

A crew from York responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by an occupant vaping and was a false alarm.

Time: 14:46    Location: Stokesley

A crew from Northallerton and collegues from Colby Newham responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision. The driver had hit a tree and was precariously left hanging over an embankment towards a nearby ford. Crews used stabilization equipment and cutting equipment to make space for the driver to get out of the vehicle safely. The incident was left in the hand of paramedics.

Time: 16:40    Location: Dunnington, York

Crews from York, Acomb, Easingwold, Tadcaster and Tadcaster’s water bower responded to an agricultural building with 300 straw bales inside on fire.

Time: 17:02   Location: Pickering

A crew from Malton responded to residents locked outside of their flat with a cooking appliance left on. Crews made entry to property and isolated the cooking appliance. Advice was given to residents.
