Incident summary Night Shift 18th April

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

17:42 – Thornton Lane, High Marishes

A first responder from Pickering responded to reports of a 78 year old male who had fallen in the property. The male had trpped and fallen in a workshop. He was lifted onto a chair by colleagues, when he then became unresponsive.  The first responder took observations before he was taken to hospital via road ambulance.

17:57 – Sharphaw Avenue, Skipton 

A crew from Skipton responded to reports of a female who had fallen within the property. Crews assisted the female back to her chair and carried out a first aid assessment.

20:23 – Pippin Road, Malton

A crew from Malton responded to reports of water issuing through a light fitting.  This was a false alarm with good intent, no water was entering through the light fitting.

20:29 – Cayton, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a request from Ambulance to assist with the extracation of a casualty from the bedroom to the awaiting road ambulance. Crews used ambulance equipment and provided extra crewpower.

23:09 – Walmgate, York

Appliances from Acomb and York were mobilised to reports of an alarm sounding a smoke sighted within a convenience store. This was found to be a false alarm caused by a burglar alarm  and a smoke cloak activation, crews carried out a thermal scan of the building using a thermal imaging camera.

03:19, East Lane, Shipton By Beninborough

A crew from Acomb responded to reports of a male aged 77 years who had climbed out of a window and on to a roof. Crews assisted the male, unharmed back into his bedroom.

 

North Yorkshire Fire & Rescue Service also responded to automatic fire alarms in Northallerton, Harrogate, Acomb and Scarborough. All of these activations were false alarms.
