Incident Summary – Wednesday 14th August 2024, Night shift

Time: 17:25  Location: Ripon

A crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of an alarm activation. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 17:46  Location: Masham

A crew from Knaresborough responded to a report of a fire in the rear garden of a property. Crews found this to be a shed on fire. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel and 1 breathing apparatus.

Time: 18:38  Location: Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of 2 people locked in a vehicle with the key inside. Crews liaised with the vehicle owner and stood by until the arrival of the AA. The incident was left with the AA and the owner.

Time: 20:11  Location: Robin Hoods Bay

A crew from Robin Hoods Bay responded to a report of an alarm activation. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Advice was given to a responsible person.

Time: 20:33  Location: Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to a request from ambulance crews to assist with gaining access to a property to allow them to care for a casualty that had fallen within. Crews gained access to the property and left the casualty in the care of paramedics.

Time: 20:56  Location: Ripon

Crews from Ripon and Masham responded to a report of a fire in a residential property. Crews found a fire to an electric hob caused by a plastic kettle that had been left on top had been extinguished prior to their arrival by occupants using a fire blanket. Crews removed the hob from the property and gave advice to the occupants.

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of an alarm activation. This was a false alarm due to an e-cigarette.

Time: 22:36  Location: York 

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of a fire on the balcony of a residential property. The fire was caused by a candle that spread to a cushion, table and some decking. Occupants of the property had extinguished the fire prior to fire crews arrival using pans of water. Crews cut away some of the decking and used a thermal imaging camera to check for further fire spread.

A crew from Skipton responded to a report of an alarm activation. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Time: 02:36   Location: Northallerton

Crews from Northallerton assisted Ambulance crews with gaining entry to a residential property to provide care for an occupant. This incident was left in hands of paramedics.

Time: 02:48   Location: Scarborough

Scarborough crew responded to au automatic alarm activation, this was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Time: 04:46   Location: Dacre

Harrogate crew responded to au automatic alarm activation, this was a false alarm  with no signs of fire found.
