Incident Summary – Day Shift, Tuesday 13th August

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 11:10   Location:  Scarborough 

Crews attended a residential property following reports of a fire.  On arrival crews used 2 Breathing Apparatus and 1 Hose reel Jet to extinguish the fire which was the result of clothing on top of a hob.

Time: 12:37   Location:  Pickering

Malton Crew attended a report of a tree that had brought down a low voltage power line.  They cordoned off the area to make the scene safe. Incident left in the hands of Northern Power Grid.

Time: 13:28   Location: Skipwith

Crews from Selby and York responded to reports of a bailer that had caught fire in a field.  On arrival Crews found the bailer and an area of the field alight. Using Breathing Apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and beaters they extinguished the fire.

Time: 14:04   Location: Whitby

While out mobile, the crew from Whitby were made aware of a road traffic collision where a pedestrian had been hit by a car.  Crews assisted by controlling traffic while paramedics attended to the casualty.

Time:  14:06  Location:  Harrogate

Harrogate crew were requested to aid Ambulance colleagues to extricate a casualty from a residential property.

Time:  15:29  Location: York

Crews went to reports of three people in the River Ouse in York.  All 3 people were rescued and left in the hands of Ambulance crews.  

 

Crews from Tadcaster, Scarborough and York also attended automatic fire alarms which were found to be false alarms.
