Incident Summary – Monday Nightshift, 12th August 2024

Time:  17:46    Location: Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough assisted ambulance with the extrication of a casualty from the second floor of their property. Crews used the evacuation chair from the ambulance and carried the casualty to the awaiting ambulance outside. The patient was left in the care of paramedics.

Time: 18:12     Location: York

A crew from York were requested to gain entry to a property for awaiting ambulance crews outside who needed to complete a welfare check on the casualty inside. On arrival, ambulance crews had gained entry and the patient was left in their care.

Time: 18:31     Location: Acomb

A crew from Acomb assisted ambulance crews with a difficult extrication of a casualty from their property to the awaiting ambulance outside. Small tools and crew power used.

Time: 19:36     Location: Scarborough

Scarborough crews responded to a domestic property and on arrival crews confirmed this was a false alarm.

Time: 19:39    Location: Acomb

Acomb, York and Tadcaster responded to a commercial property due to reports of a smell of burning. The fire was minor and out on arrival of crews. Incident involved electrical wiring. Very minor damage was caused.

Harrogate crews attended a commercial bin fire and extinguished with it using a hose reel.

Time: 19:53    Location: York

York crew assisted a person stuck in a lift. Crews released the trapped person using lift keys.

Time:  22:11    Location: Pickering

A crew from Kirbymoorside responded to an activated fire alarm inside a commercial property. Crews carried out a full thermal investigation using a thermal imaging camera and found no sign of fire or smoke. This was confirmed a false alarm.

Time: 22:29     Location: Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough assisted ambulance with the extrication of a casualty from the second floor of a residential building. Crews used the ambulance stretcher, crew power and casualty drag sheet to move the casualty to the awaiting ambulance outside. The casualty was left in the care of paramedics.

Time: 23:45     Location: Eastfield, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of some rubbish on fire in a public area. Crews extinguished the small fire using a hose reel jet. The cause was believed accidental due to the incorrect disposal of multiple disposable BBQs which had been discarded on top of one another.

Time:  00:41    Location: Glusburn, Near Skipton

A crew from Skipton responded to a fire alarm activation in a public building. Crews completed a full investigation and found no sign of fire or smoke. This was a false alarm.

Time: 01:58     Location: Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to an activated fire alarm inside a commercial building. On arrival crews found no sign of fire and no alarm activating. A full investigation was carried out and this was confirmed a false alarm.

Time: 03:15     Location: Acomb

Acomb crew investigated reports of a smell of smoke in street, after investigation this was confirmed as a controlled burn in a domestic garden under supervision. Advice given.

Time:04:07   Location: Harrogate

Harrogate crews assisted Ambulance with the moving of a casualty from their property into an ambulance.

Automatic fire alarm activations were attended in Harrogate, Pickering and Skipton, all were confirmed to be false alarms.
