Incident Summary – Saturday Dayshift, 27th July 2024

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Time: 09:47   Location:  York Road, Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster gained entry to a domestic property to allow for a carer to check on the elderly occupant inside. Crews used small tools only to gain access and left the occupant in the care of her carer.

Time: 10:58   Location: Near Grassington 

A crew from Grassington assisted an owner with their dog Milo who had fallen from height and into the river. Members of the public assisted Milo and his owner to a place of relative safety prior to fire crews arrival. On arrival, crews assisted Milo and his owner by carrying Milo to the car for transport to the nearest vets. Crew power and a casualty sheet was used only.

Time: 13:08   Location:  Osgodby Lane, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to an activated smoke alarm inside a domestic property. After inspection by our crews the cause of the alarm activation was due to a faulty detector. Crews removed the faulty smoke alarm and replaced it with a new one.

Time: 13:48   Location:  Bainbridge, Near Hawes

A crew from Hawes responded to an activated smoke alarm inside a residential building. This was a false alarm caused by cooking fumes.

Time: 14:14   Location: Carr Lane, Acomb 

A crew from Acomb assisted a occupant who had fallen from their chair at home and was not physically able to lift themselves back to a place of safety. Crew power used only.

Time: 15:02   Location:  Near Upgang Lane, Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by a faulty detector and was a false alarm.

Time: 16:57   Location:  Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to an activated fire alarm inside a medical establishment.
