Incident Summary – Tuesday Dayshift, 16th July 2024

Time: 09:25  Location: Dunnington, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to the smell of burning inside a commercial building. This was caused by an electrical fault on one of the appliances inside. Crews completed a full inspection and gave advice to staff. Incident was left in the hands of an electrician.

Time: 09:40  Location: Near Sutton-in-Craven, Skipton

A crew from Skipton alongside an appliance from our colleagues at West Yorkshire Fire Service responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival, crews found all persons out of their vehicles and in the care of paramedics.

Time: 13:54  Location: Near York Road, Haxby

A crew from Ripon when on standby in the York area responded to assist ambulance gain entry to a domestic property. On arrival, crews found that ambulance staff had gained entry to the property and no further action was required by the fire service.

Time: 13:56   Location: Seamer Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to two wheelie bins well alight inside an external storage room. The cause of this was deliberate. Crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet.

Time: 16:29  Location: Moor Road, Filey

A crew from Scarborough responded to a oven fire inside a residential building. This was out on arrival of fire crews. Crews ventilated the property and gave advice to the occupant not to use a the faulty cooking appliance until an engineer has arrived.

Time: 16:36   Location: Gallowgate, Richmond

A crew from Richmond responded to a fire inside a residential garden. This was a controlled burn supervised by the occupier. Advice given.

Time: 16:41   Location: Thanet Road, Acomb

A crew from Acomb responded to an activated fire alarm inside a unoccupied domestic flat. This alarm was activated by a flea bomb and was a false alarm.
