Incident Summary – 9th July 2024, Night shift

17:48 Wighill Road, Tadcaster 
Crews from Tadcaster, Acomb and Malton responded to a report of a bull that had entered the river and become stuck. Crews rescued the bull from the river however it then re-entered further down stream. Crews were able to remove the bull from the water using animal rescue equipment along with water rescue equipment. The bull was left in the care of the farmer.

19:10 Knaresborough Road, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a request from ambulance crews to assist with moving a casualty. Crews used crew power to carry the casualty from their property to the awaiting ambulance and left them in the care of paramedics.

19:19 Kings Road, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a teenager who had become stuck on top of a wooden structure. Crews assisted the female down using a triple extension ladder.

19:43 A1M N J49 Dishforth 
Crews from Harrogate and Ripon responded to a report of a single vehicle rtc. On arrival of crews no action was required. The occupants of the vehicle were out and in the care of paramedics. The incident was left with police and ambulance crews.

19:54 A168 Thirsk 
A crew from Thirsk responded to a report of a single vehicle RTC. On arrival, all occupants of the vehicle were out and in the care of ambulance crews. No fire service action was required.

20:06 St Benedict Road, York
Crews from York and Selby responded to a report of smoke in the ground floor of a residential property. This was found to be caused by a smoke bomb that had been maliciously set off in the property. No fire service action was required.

20:18 Tockwith Road, Tockwith 
A crew from Tadcaster responded to a report of an alarm activation in a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

20:22 A59 Goldsborough 
A crew from Harrogate attended a report of a single vehicle RTC. No fire service action was required at the incident.

20:43 Main Street, Shipton by Beningbrough 
A crew from Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to an unknown cause.

21:53 Park Street, Pickering 
A crew from Kirbymoorside responded to a report of flooding in a commercial premises. Crews assisted staff to clear blocked drains and brush flood water out of the premises.

22:18 Bridge Street, Pickering 
A crew from Kirkbymoorside assisted with clearing floodwater from a commercial premises. Crews used brushes and small tools to assist in clearing the water.

22:30 Barlby Road, Selby 
A crew from Selby responded to a report of an alarm activation at a residential premises. This was a false alarm due to insects in the detector head.

23:04 Davygate, York 
A crew from York responded to a report of an alarm activation in a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the main system. Advice was given to a responsible person.

23:10 Cloughton, Scarborough 
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of flood water affecting a boarding cattery and kennels. The water was not entering the residential property and all animals were moved to safe locations. Crews gave advice to responsible persons.

01:23 Wetherby Road, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a male who’s finger had become impaled on barbed wire after trying to climb over a fence. Crews removed the barbed wire using bolt croppers and left the male in care of first aiders.

01:35 Knaresborough Road, Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

01:54 Barbeck, Thirsk
A crew from Thirsk responded to a report of an alarm activation at a commercial premises. This was a false alarm due to a faulty detector.

05:45 Rainton
Crews were mobilised to a report of a fire in a premises. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus, 1 hose reel and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.
