Incident Summary – 28th June 2024, Day Shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

09:01 Loveshome Hill, Northallerton 
A crew from Northallerton responded a request for assistance to gain entry to a residential property where carers had concerns for the occupant. Crews gained access to the property and found the occupant safe and well inside. The incident was left with the carers.

11:35 Harrogate 
A crew from Harrogate assisted a male who self presented at the fire station with a ring stuck on his finger. Crews removed the ring using ring cutters.

12:02 B6160 Kettlewell 
Crews from Grassington and Skipton responded to a report of a 2 vehicle rtc involving a small van and a car. The male driver of the van was out on the arrival of crews and believed uninjured. Crews used E-cutters and spreaders to extricate 2 elderly occupants of the car who were both transported to hospital via road ambulance. Crews made the vehicles safe and left the incident in the hands of the police.

12:22 Ouseburn Avenue, York 
Crews from Acomb and York responded to a report of smoke in the kitchen of a residential property. On arrival crews found no sign of fire, the smoke was believed to be cooking fumes and the bang heard was due to a baking tray in the oven.

12:48 The Shambles, York
Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of an alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to dust from workmen.

16:19 Scalby Mills Road, Scarborough 
Crews from Scarborough responded to a request for assistance from police dealing with a male on the cliff edge. On arrival of fire crews, the male had come away from the cliff edge and was in the care of police officers.

16:20 A1041 Barlow 
A crew from Selby responded to a report of a burning smell coming from a vehicle. Crews found this to be a false alarm due to a blown turbo. Crews assisted in moving the vehicle out of the roadway.

16:31 St Nicholas Cliff, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of persons stuck in a lift. On the arrival of fire crews, all persons were out of the lift. No fire service action was required.
