Incident Summary – Night Shift, Thursday 20th June

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Scott Road,Selby – 17:16

Crews from Selby responded to a fire in the open at a skate park. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.

Middleton Road, York – 17:51

Crews from Acomb and York responded to a grill fire in the kitchen of a residential property. This fire was out on arrival of the Fire Service, extinguished by the occupant using a dry powder extinguisher. Crews inspected only and gave advice.

Wheatcroft Cliff, Scarborough – 19:21

Scarborough crews responded to calls of a fire seen on the open in a field near Wheatcroft Cliff. This was a false alarm due to controlled burning.

Wigginton Road, York – 20:18

Crews attended a male with  a spanner stuck on a finger. Crews released the male using ring cutters.

Trafalgar Square, Scarborough – 00:31

Scarborough crews responded to calls of fire and smoke seen on the area of Trafalgar Square. This was a false alarm due to a control burning in a brazier.

St Nicholas Cliff, Scarborough – 00:35

Crews from Scarborough responded to 5 people stuck in a lift at a residential property. Crews released all trapped people using crew power and lift keys.

Haig Street, Selby – 03:26

Selby crew assisted a severely ill bed bound male following an electrical bed malfunction with no other persons able to assist him at the time.

Courtneys, Selby – 03:42

Selby crew assisted a daughter gain entry to her mother’s locked premises after her mother had fallen within and was unable to get to the door.

During the night, crews from Acomb, York, Tadcaster, Selby and Knaresborough responded to automatic alarm activations. These were all false alarms.
