Incident summary – 5th June, 2024 – Night shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Time: 18:15      Location: Hookstone Drive, Harrogate

A Fire Service officer came across a tree hanging dangerously above a road and footpath. Highways attended and a tree surgeon was contacted.

Time: 18:26      Location: High Ousegate, York

Requested by Police, York and Acomb fire resources responded to assist them with a Police incident.

Time: 21:19      Location: Lowther Street, York

Requested by Ambulance, York crew responded to a report of a fallen male within premises. Door forced allowing paramedics access.

Time: 22:56      Location: Upper Helmsley Road, Sand Hutton

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a tractor on fire on a narrow road near Sand Hutton. Crews extinguished the fire using 2 hose reel jets, 2 sets of breathing apparatus and lamps. The incident was then left in the hands of a responsible person.

Time: 00:37      Location: Zetland Street, Northallerton

Northallerton crews responded to a skip fire measuring approximatley 2 x 1 metres containing timber. Crews extinguished the fire by filling the skip with water. Cause – deliberate.

Time: 01:51      Location: Main Street, Monk Fryston

Selby crews responded to a water leak from a first floor premises affecting the flat below. Water isolated by fire crew and advice given.

Time: 02:26      Location: Prospect View, Northallerton

Northallerton crews responded to a wheelie bin on fire which also cused heat damage to the exterior of a property. Fire crews extinguished the fire by use of a hose reel and liaised with Police due to this being the second deliberate fire in the vicinity.

 

There were also fire alarm activations responded to in: Hipswell, Knareborough, Scaborough and York x2.   All proved false alarms.
