Incident Summary – Sunday 2nd June – Night Shift

17:34 – Westborough, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of a smell of petrol in a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm and was painting fumes. Advice was given to residents.

17:56 – Micklegate, York

York crews assisted a female who had fallen on the pavement with first aid. She was then able to make her way to hospital with a family member.

18:20 – Clapham, Settle

Crews from Skipton responded to reports of a fire seen in the open. This resulted in a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision. Advice was given.

18:37 – Olivers Mount, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough responded to reports of gorse bushes on fire in a field. Crews inspected the fire which was out on arrival.

18:52 – Fairfield Road, Stokesley

Crews from Stokesley responded to reports of a fire in a field. Crews extinguished a small fire using a bucket of water. The cause was deliberate.

19:56 – Bondgate Green, Ripon

Ripon crews responded to reports of a young male on the roof of a building. Crews assisted the youth down using a triple extension ladder.

20:02 – A1 N J48 to 49 Dishforth

Crews from Knaresborough, Thirsk and Wetherby responded to reports of a vehicle smoking on the A1 northbound. No vehicle was located after a wider search of the area. This was a false alarm.

20:24 – St Georges Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

22:31 – Church Hill, Sherburn in Elmet

Crews from Tadcaster, Selby and neighbouring appliance Garforth responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out of the vehicle on arrival and crews assisted by making the vehicle safe with small tools.

22:59 – The Mount, York

Crews from Acomb and York responded to reports of smoke coming from a kitchen flat. The crews located and extinguished the kitchen fire using two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera. One female was located and in care of paramedics on scene for smoke inhalation. The crews then ventilated the property using a positive pressure ventilation fan. The cause was accidental.

23:42 – Lower Ebor Street, York

Crews from York assisted a mother who was unable to access her baby’s bedroom due to a broken door handle. Crews gained access using small tools and reunited the baby with her mother.

23:44 – Winton Road, Northallerton

Crews from Northallerton assisted paramedics on scene to gain entry and reach the occupant inside who required care.Crews used a short extension ladder to gain access.

01:45 – Muston, Filey

Single vehicle Road Traffic Collision, vehicle into brick built barn. Person out of vehicle on Fire Service Arrival, crews made scene safe.

05:38 – Lady Ediths Drive, Scarborough

Crew were mobilised to a report of a fire alarm sounding. This was a false alarm.
