Incident Summary – Saturday 1st June – Night Shift

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

17:29 – Skelldale Close, Ripon

Crews from Ripon and Harrogate responded to reports of a residential premises on fire. The fire was extinguished using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet. The cause was accidental.

18:21 – Thornton-Le-Dale

Our first responder from Pickering assisted with casualty care prior to paramedics arriving on scene. The casualty was then transported to hospital via road ambulance.

18:54 – Racecourse Lane, Northallerton

Northallerton crews responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

20:55 – Cambridge Road, Harrogate

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to reports of a fire above a commercial premises. Crews extinguished a fire on the first floor office space using six breathing apparatus, two hose reel jets, small tools and the aerial ladder platform. The cause was believed accidental due to an electrical fault.

21:13 – Pickering

Our first responder from Pickering assisted with casualty care prior to paramedics arriving on scene. The casualty was then transported to hospital via road ambulance.

22:50 – Moorland View, Sherburn in Elmet

Crews from Tadcaster responded to reports of a fire in the open. Crews discovered a small fire out on arrival. The fire was extinguished by a member of the public with a bucket and the cause was deliberate. Crews ensured the area wouldn’t reignite by damping down with a knapsack sprayer.

23:05 – Clarence Street, York

Crews from York responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises. This resulted in a false alarm.

23:10 – Thirkleby, Thirsk

Crews from Thirsk responded to reports of a fire seen in the open. This resulted in a false alarm due to controlled burning under supervision.

00:05 – Lothersdale, Skipton

Skipton crews responded to a fire sighted in the open. Crews found a fire measuring 5m by 5m which was controlled burning left unattended. the fire was extinguished using one hose reel jet.

00:39 – Seaton Crescent, Staithes

Crews from Lythe, Whitby and neighbouring brigade Loftus responded to a fire at a residential premises. The crews extinguished a kitchen fire using two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet. The occupants were all accounted for and uninjured.

01:23 – Brompton by Sawdon

Crews from Scarborough responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a public assembly premises. This resulted in a false alarm.
