Incident summary – Night shift – 26 May, 2024

18:54 Summerbridge
A crew from Harrogate responded to a premises which was being flooded due to the weather. On arrival, flood water had receded with no fire service actions required.
19:10 Constable Burton
Colburn crew used a light portable pump to divert water away from a flooding premises.
19:14 Stillington
York and Acomb crews responded to a BMW series 3 car which had overturned and ended upside down in a hedge. On their arrival the male driver aged 30s was out of the car and receiving care from paramedics. No action required by Fire.
20:11 Micklegate, York
Returning from the previous incident, York appliance came across a person collapsed in the street. Fire crew remained with casualty – a female celebrating her 40th birthday – until an Ambulance, they requested, attended.
20:22 Skipton
A crew from Skipton attended a premises as a fire safety precaution following a 999 call from the occupant stating that their washing machine kept switching on and off despite being unplugged and making a noise. Noise was found to be coming from an air lock in pipes. Occupant advised to call a plumber.
21:58, St Saviourgate, York
A crew from York responded to reports of a fire alarm sounding.This was a false alarm with an unknown cause.
22:02, Field Drive, Tadcaster
A crew from Tadcaster responded to reports of a family locked out of their home. The crew used a locksnapper to gain access to the property, which the council then resecured.
22:08, Garten Close, Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough responded to reports of an alarm sounding in a residential premises. This was a false alarm caused by a low battery warning.
22:33, Royal Crescent, Whitby
A crew from Whitby responded to reports of a four year old child, who had accidentally become locked in a bathroom. The crew released the boy, unharmed, using small tools.
00:13, Wetherby Road, Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate assisted a female to safety after she had fallen within her home. Crews used crewpower only.
01:40, Church Fenton, Tadcaster
A crew from Tadcaster responded to reports of a fire to a vehicle outside a property.
02:42, Fieldside, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough extinguished a wheelie bin on fire.
03:50, B6255, near Skelton on Ure
A crew from Ripon responded to a van fire. Fire extinguished by use of a hose reel.

York crew gained access for Ambulance to a locked premises where a female had fallen within.
