Incident Summary – Day Shift, Saturday 25th May

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 

Time: 08:21   Location: Skipton Road, Harrogate

Crews from Harrogate attended reports of an alarm sounding within a property. Following further investigation from the fire service this was discovered to be a false alarm.

Time: 11:23   Location: East Ayton, Scarborough 

Crews from Scarborough and Filey attended an incident involving a fire to a tool bench within a workshop. The fire was extinguished by the occupant on site prior to the arrival of the fire service. Crews proceeded to dampen down the area and make it safe, later going on to give advice to the occupants.

Time: 14:16   Location: A1 Southbound, J44 to J43 

Crews from Tadcaster attended reports of a vehicle emitting smoke. Upon further investigation by crews it was discovered that the smoke was due to a blown turbo, crews went on to cool the engine department using one hose reel jet and ensured the safety of the vehicle.

Time: 15:13   Location: Selby

Crews from Selby attended an incident involving a small fire in the open to a personal shopping trolley which was believed to be deliberate. The fire was extinguished prior to the arrival of the fire service and crews ensured the area was safe.

Time: 15:32   Location: Wigglesworth 

Crews from Selby attended a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision with the occupants trapped inside. The occupants were out of the vehicle on arrival of crews and did not require any medical assistance, the incident was left in the hands of police.

Time: 16:07   Location:  Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough attended an incident involving 8 people stuck inside a lift. The crews were able to release the occupants from the lift using lift keys. The power to the lift was isolated and advice was given to contact a responsible person to request a lift engineer.
