Incident Summary – Dayshift, 5th of May 2024

Time: 08:54     Location: Shipton Road, Acomb

A crew from York responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by cooking fumes and was a false alarm.

Time: 09:59     Location: North Marine Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. Crews gave advice to occupiers and carried out a full inspection. The cause of this was a fault on the system and a false alarm.

Time: 10:47     Location: Richmond Road, Richmond

A crew from Richmond responded to smoke coming from a van. On arrival crews found no sign of fire but carried out inspection to find it was caused from a small oil leak. Crews gave advice.

Time:  13:22    Location: Near Northway, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a fire inside a flat. All occupants were out prior to arrival and Crews entered the building using breathing apparatus equipment and extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet. Crews then ventilated the building using a positive pressure ventilation fan.

Time: 13:25     Location: Acorn Way, York

Crews from York and Acomb responded to an activated fire alarm inside a domestic property. This was caused by cooking fumes and was a false alarm. Crews gave advice to the occupant.

Time:  14:35  Location:  Burr Bank, Scarborough

A crew from Filey responded to reports of a bird trapped in 40 foot high netting on multiple chimney stacks. Crews used a 13.5 ladder to gain access. The bird was handed over to the care of the RSPCA officer on scene.

Time:  14:38    Location: Ingleton

A crew from Hawes responded to a request from carers to gain entry to a property for a client within. Crews used a ladder to access an open window and enter the property through the window, allowing the door to be opened from the inside. The client was left in the care of the carers.

Time: 15:43     Location: Wistow Road, Selby

A crew from Selby responded to reports of a 12 year old boy stuck on a climbing frame. Crews used a triple extension ladder to assist the boy from the climbing frame, unharmed.

Time: 16:33     Location: Cold Bath Road, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to an activated fire alarm inside a domestic property. This was caused by cooking fumes and was a false alarm. Crews gave advice to the occupant.
