Incident Summary – Night shift, Thursday 2nd May

To ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred. 

 

Time: 17:15      Location: Whitby

Whitby crew extinguished a small fire in the open using two backpack water sprayers.

Time: 18:15      Location: Skipton

Skipton crew extinuished a small rubbish fire in the open. Bucket of water used to extinguish.

Time: 18:24      Location: Selby

Selby crew attended a domestic property following notification of an alarm activated. On arrival, crew found a small fire to food within a grill pan had occurred but was now out. Crew used a ventilation fan to clear smoke.

Time: 21:16      Location: Gateforth

Selby crew extinguished a fire in the open. This was a controlled burn, spread to number of plastic tonne bags. One hose reel used to extinguish. Advice given to land owner.

Time: 23:23      Location: A64, Stockton on the Forest

York crew extinguished a car fire using 2 hose reels.

Time: 03:30      Location: Foreshore Road, Scarborough

Crews extinguished small fire using 1 hose reel.

In addition to the above, crews from Scarborough, Acomb, Knaresborough and Harrogate attended automatic fire alarm activations throughout the night. Following investigations, all were confirmed to be false alarms.
