Incident Summary – Thursday 25th April – Night Shift

17:16 – Felixkirk, Thirsk

Crews from Thirsk responded to a chimney fire at a residential premises. Crews extinguished the fire using a hearth kit, 13.5 meter ladder and one hose reel jet. The cause was an accumulation of soot. Advice was given to the occupants.

20:28 – Kirkby Malzeard, Ripon

Ripon crews responded to a chimney fire at a residential premises. Crews used a hearth kit to extinguish the fire which was caused by a birds nest.

22:45- Finghall

Crews from Bedale and Leyburn responded to reports of a JCB on fire. Crews used 2 hose reel jets and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish.

23:36- Tholthorpe

Crew from Easingwold attended a chimney fire. They located a number of hotspots in the chimney breast and extinguished using 1 hose reel jet, 9 metre ladder and a roof ladder.

00:20- A19, Ellerbeck

Crew from Northallerton responded to reports of a car fire on the A19. This was a false alarm caused by an oil leak spilling on to hot engine components.

00:48- Scarborough

Crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a fire in a flat with the occupant locked inside. Crew gained entry using game equipment. No fire at this property. Alarm was sounding due to low battery. Advice given.

03:12 – Northallerton

Northallerton crews assisted paramedics on scene to gain entry into a property and reach a casualty. They used small tools and a locksnapper.

03:17 – Broadway, Scarborough

Crews from Scarborough assisted paramedics with casualty care using crewpower.
