Incident Summary – Dayshift, 21st April 2024

Time: 08:43    Location: Kingsway West, Acomb

A crew from Acomb responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by cooking fumes and was a false alarm. Crews gave advice.

Time: 12:06    Location: Forest Lane, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was due to a small amount of paper on fire inside the building that was out prior to crews arrival. Crews carried out a full inspection and advice was given to the occupant.

Time: 12:42    Location: New Lane, Huntington

A crew from Tadcaster when in the York area responded to reports of smoke sighted inside a commercial building. This was confirmed as controlled burning behind the building and advice was given to the responsible person.

Time:  13:14   Location: A64, Sherburn

Both crews from Scarborough responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. Both drivers were out prior to crews arrival and in the care of paramedics. Crews provided scene safety and assisted police with moving the vehicles to a safe location until recovery could arrive.

Time: 13:56    Location: Fulford Road, York

A crew from Tadcaster while in the York area responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. This was caused by cooking fumes and was a false alarm.

Time: 14:43    Location: Wetherby

A crew from Harrogate assisted our colleagues in West Yorkshire with an incident in their fire services area.

Time: 16:19    Location: Water Lane, York

A crew from Acomb responded to carpet and furniture that was on fire outside. This was set deliberately. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and left the incident in hands of the police.
