Firefighters and Public Safety Officers look forward to meeting attendees at the Great Yorkshire Show next week.

Situated at stand 330 which is next to the ‘gold gate’ we will be hosting a variety of activities to educate and engage with visitors.

These include the North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service FireBike, which assists with road safety education, raising awareness how road users can help keep motorcyclists safe and advice for riders too.

Staying on the topic of road safety, our drink-driving driver simulators will be at the event to demonstrate the effects of driving under the influence of alcohol.

Water safety will play a big part too including throw line demonstrations and we will of course also have information on farm and home fire safety.

If you are interested in the careers available within North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service then there will also be recruitment information available too.

Station Manager for Prevention Adam Farrow, said: “Learn how to use a throw rope, what to do in a water or fire emergency and how to prevent one, have a go on our virtual reality headsets or get your picture taken on our FireBike, there is lots going on at our stand at the Great Yorkshire Show.

“We will have experts on hand to discuss farm fire safety and recruitment opportunities within the fire service – so come along a see us at stand number 330 to find out more.

“It is always a great event and something we look forwards to every year. It is a fantastic opportunity to meet so many people, share information and demonstrate the work we do at North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.”

We will be sharing photos of our time at the show on social media so please keep an eye out.
