Kicking off in York

Published 19th Feb 2020

We are working with regional fire servicesand police forces including North Yorkshire Police to support KickOff@3 which is aimed at engaging with young people through sport and music.

This year a KickOff@3  7 a-side football tournament is being held at York Sports Village on 12th April. The winners from the day will then take part in a national tournament in London in June 2020.

We will be putting forward teams from our firefighter cadet schemes and Local Intervention Fire Education (LIFE) course attendees.

Teams are still needed to take part. There are two age groups of 13-14 year olds and 15 -16 year olds. If you would be interested in putting forward a team please contact Arfan.Rahouf@northyorkshire.pnn.police.uk before the 13th March 2020.

The tournament will also help raise funds for Luke Mortimer, who lost both his legs and arms to meningitis last year.

On the day we’ll be offering fire safety information and advice.

Further information about Kickoff@3 is available on their website https://www.kickoffat3.co.uk/ and the fundraising page for Luke Mortimer is available at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/john-firth
