Bondgate, Ripon Time of call: 13:07

A crew from Ripon have attended an automatic fire alarm.  On arrival crews found smoke exiting from a residential flat with one elderly gentleman still inside. Crews gained entry and rescued the gentleman before giving oxygen therapy while the remaining firefighters extinguished the fire. The cause of the fire was believed to be due to a chopping board left on the hob.

Scarborough crews have responded to reports of an oven on fire. Crews ventilated the property by opening windows and gave advice to the owner. This was believed to be caused due to bacon left on the grill.
