Incident Summary – Day Shift Tuesday 6th November

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Road traffic collision – A19, Tollerton

Time of call: 0719 hours

Crews from Easingwold, Acomb and the incident support unit from Tadcaster have dealt with a serious 2 vehicle road traffic collision. 1 male taken to hospital suffering from shock. The road was closed for some time whilst crews assisted Police with the scene.  Road traffic collision – A19, southbound near Exelby Services

Time of call: 0730 hours

Crews from Northallerton and Stokesley have been called to a 5 vehicle road traffic collision on the A19. No persons trapped or injured. Incident left with Police.

 False alarm – Calf Close, Haxby

Time of call: 0822 hours

A crew from Huntington has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to steam from a shower.

 Rescue – off Albermarle Road, York

Time of call: 0904 hours

A crew from York has assisted an elderly lady who had fallen inside her home. Crew used manpower to lift the lady back on to her bed unharmed.

 Roof fire – Roall Lane, Kellington

Time of call: 1034 hours

Crews from Selby and Pontefract have dealt with a fire in the roof void of a temporary building used as an office block. This resulted in an area 5m by 5m of fire and heat damage to the roof void. Crews used 1 hose reel, ceiling hooks, thermal imaging camera and lighting. The cause is believed to have been workmen with a blow torch.

 False alarm – Market Place, Settle

Time of call: 1040 hours

A crew from Bentham has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to an aerosol spray.

 False alarm – Wigginton Road, York

Time of call: 1226 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to a deodorant spray.

 Small fire – Nursery Lane East, Harrogate

Time of call: 1316 hours

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a small fire in woodland. The crew used a knapsack sprayer and small tools. The cause is believed to be deliberate.

 Rescue – off Coupland Road, Selby

Time of call: 1429 hours

A crew from Selby has gained entry to a domestic property after a 1 year old child locked her mum outside. Crews used a triple extension ladder and mother and child were reunited.

 Bonfire – Hinderwell Road, Scarborough

Time of call: 1437 hours

A crew from Scarborough have dealt with a fire in the open. Crew used 1 hose reel to extinguish. This was the remnants of a bonfire from last night.
