Incident Summary – Night Shift  – Tuesday 8th January

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

The Mount, York - Time of call 17:34

Fire crews from York responded to a litter bin on fire outside a public house. The fire was out on arrival and caused damage to the contents of the bin only. The cause of the fire is unknown.

Upwell Road, Northallerton – Time of call 17:48

Crews from Northallerton attended a smell of burning inside a school building. This was caused by a small fire in a light fitting. The fire was out on arrival and crews inspected the fitting using a thermal imaging camera.

A168 Asenby to Dishforth – Time of call 19:05

Crews from Boroughbridge, Thirsk and Ripon attended a car fire, the car suffered 100% fire damage and crews extinguished the fire using 4 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets, thermal imaging camera and foam. The cause of the fire is believed to be due to an electrical fault

Well Lane, Snape – Time 19:21

Masham attended a single vehicle road traffic collision where a car had hit a fallen tree branch. The driver of the car was unhurt, crews assisted with moving the tree branch from the road and checked the safety of the vehicle.

Glaisdale, Whitby – Time of call 19:50

Danby extinguished an unattended bonfire on grassland using 1 hose reel jet, the cause of the fire was deliberate.

Wiggington Road, York – Time of call 23:16

York crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm at a residential address, this was a false alarm caused by deliberate activation of a emergency call point.

Front Street, York – Time of call 00:14

Acomb extinguished a builders skip on fire containing mixed waste. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and the cause of the fire is unknown. The fire caused damage to the contents of the skip only.
