Incident Summary – Night shift  – Monday  7th January

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

Heslington, York - Time of call 16:54

Fire crews from Huntington responded to a sports hall with dangerous metal roof tiles coming loose. Crews removed a roof tile and secured several other using an angle grinder and small tools.

A172 Faceby - Time of call 18:54

Stokesley crews responded to reports of a bonfire causing thick black smoke to cross the road. Crews extinguished fire using a hose reel.

East Parade, Harrogate  - Time of call 19:55

Harrogate fire crews responded to a small fire in a domestic garden. Crews confirmed this involved a deckchair in the garden. Fire was out on arrival.

Tewit Well Road, Harrogate - Time of call 20:08

Harrogate fire crews responded to a fire in a domestic kitchen. The cause of the fire was the accidental placing of an electric kettle onto a gas stove. Fire was out on arrival.

Cliffe, Selby -Time of call 21:02

Fire crews from Selby responded to reports of a large fire in the open. This turned out to be a bonfire under good supervision.

Wellington Street, York - Time of call 23:51

Fire crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of a garage on fire, however on arrival crew confirmed that the incident involved a pile of rubbish set alight deliberately. Crews extinguished using a bucket of water.

Aiskew – Time of call 02:30

Bedale attended an automatic fire alarm at a residential address, this was a false alarm caused by an unknown fault.

Micklegate, York – Time of call 03:08

A crew from York attended an automatic fire alarm at a hotel, this was a false alarm caused by a fault on system.
