Incident Summary – Night Shift 21st March

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

False alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 1755 hours

A crew from Acomb has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

False alarm – Riparian Way, Crosshills

Time of call: 1923 hours

A crew from Skipton has responded to a smoke alarm activation in a commercial property. This was a false alarm due to faulty apparatus.

Small fire – Endcliff Crescent, Scarborough

Time of call: 2001 hours

A crew from Scarborough has dealt with a rubbish fire in the open. Crew used 1 hose reel to extinguish. The cause is believed to be deliberate by youths.

Bin fire – Parliament Street, Harrogate

Time of call: 2024 hours

A crew from Harrogate has dealt with a bin fire in the open. The fire was out on arrival. Crew carried out inspection only. Cause believed to be an accidentally dropped light.

False alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 2215 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

22nd March

Bin fire spreading to flat exterior – Millgate, Selby

Time of call: 01:26 hours

A crew from Selby responded to bins on fire outside a 2 storey flat.  Heat damage also occurred to the flat’s external windows. X2 occupants treat by firecrews for slight smoke inhalation. Bin fire extinguished by hosereel with the cause believed to be deliberate.

False alarm – Percys Lane, York

Time of call: 03:28 hours

A crew from York has responded to a smoke alarm in a residential property. This was a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

False alarm – Hungate, York

Time of call: 03:38 & 05:00 hours

A crew from Acomb and then York responded to fire alarm activations in a development.  Cause – false alarm.

False alarm – Jockey Lane, York

Time of call: 05:41 hours

A crew from Huntington has responded to a smoke alarm in a commercial property. This was a false alarm.
