Incident Summary – Day Shift  – Saturday 12th January

In order to ensure that people are not identifiable from our incident round-up, we will no longer be providing street names, for smaller towns and villages, where incidents have occurred.

 Eden Avenue, Selby – Time of call 12:50

 Selby attended a wheelie bin on fire close to a residential property. The fire caused damage to the bin, its contents and minor fire damage to the window of the property. Crews extinguished the fire and checked for fire spread into a roof void. Crews used 1 hose reel jet, triple extension ladder and a thermal imaging camera. The cause of the fire was accidental.

Spalding Avenue, York – Time of call 12:51

 A crew from Acomb were mobilised to a report of a possible smell of toxic burning in the area. Crews investigated but found no smell or burning in the area. Crews gave advice to the residents.

A64, East Heslerton – Time of call 13:28

 Malton were sent to reports of a fire in a filed close to the A64 with smoke blowing over the carriageway. This was a false alarm caused by controlled burning, crews gave safety advice to those with the fire.

Thirsk Industrial Park, Thirsk – Time of call 13:35

Northallerton attended an automatic fire alarm at a commercial warehouse. This was a false alarm caused by an unknown fault.

Jacksons Lane, Scarborough – Time of call 14:23

An appliance from Scarborough extinguished 10sqm of wood chippings on fire. Crews used 1 hose reel jet at this incident. The cause of the fire is believed to be deliberate.
